10 Miles

The main distance of the NN Dam tot Dam Run is the 10 English Miles, a 16.1 km course between Amsterdam and Zaandam. The 10 English Miles will take place on Sunday, September 20.

Course

The 10 English Miles starts at Prins Hendrikkade in Amsterdam. Immediately after, runners pass through the IJ Tunnel, a connection between the city center and Amsterdam-Noord that is only open to runners during the NN Dam tot Dam Run. The real fun begins from Buiksloterdijk, where enthusiastic residents along Landsmeerderdijk, Kadoelenweg, Stoombootweg, and Appelweg are ready to cheer you on. After Molenwijkpark, you continue along the bike path to the Coentunnel circuit and run via the bus lane along the A8 to the Noorder IJ- and Zeedijk in Zaandam. From there, you follow the always lively Zuiddijk to the finish along the Zaan River at De Burcht.

Start

The 10 English Miles starts at 9:19 AM. The NN Dam tot Dam Run starts in Amsterdam at Prins Hendrikkade. All starts take place from Prins Hendrikkade.
Starting areas
At Prins Hendrikkade, there are four designated start zones. Each start zone opens 30 minutes before its start time. Signs at the entry gates clearly indicate, using colors and numbers, which bib numbers belong to each zone. The individual start zones are assigned based on the runner’s declared target time. Every runner must be in their start zone at least 15 minutes before the start. The zones are used multiple times for each start group.
Important: It is not allowed to start in an earlier start group, but starting later is permitted.
Helpdesk
The helpdesk can be found at the centre side of Amsterdam Central Station. After the finish, there will also be a helpdesk near the entrance of the Dam tot Dam Park.

Dressing and shower facilities
Changing facilities are only available in Zaandam in Sporthal De Struijck, near the Dam tot Dam Park. There is no shower facility. You can also leave (limited) clothing and bags here. Participants in the Business Run can store their clothing in the changing tent at the Dam tot Dam Park.
Clothing
Clothing drop-off
With your race number, you will receive a special NN Dam tot Damloop clothing bag. Use this to drop off your clothing at Stationsplein in Amsterdam (in front of Central Station). Close the bag securely and hand it in at the clothing drop-off point. You will then receive a sticker with a number, which you should stick on your race number. In Zaandam, you can retrieve your bag by showing this sticker. Follow the signs on site.

Please note: clothing may not be left at the starting areas – it will be thrown away immediately. Only the clothing bags provided will be accepted. Sports bags and rucksacks will not be accepted. Business runners can leave their bags in the changing tent in the NN Dam tot Dam Park.

Clothing return
After the finish, on your way to the NN Dam tot Dam Park, you can collect your clothing bag. The bags are sorted according to the number on the sticker you have placed on your race number. Show this number when collecting your bag.

Please note! The lowest numbers are at the front (close to the finish), the highest at the back (towards the NN Dam tot Dam Park). Tip: do not throw away your clothing bag – it is perfectly reusable. Still want to throw it away? Then do so with the plastic waste for recycling.

During the race

Finish

Finish

The finish line for the 10 English Miles is located along the Zaan (at the Burcht). The time limit for the 10 English Miles is 2 hours and 20 minutes (140 minutes). The finish closes at 4.30 p.m. Runners who are overtaken by the broom wagon and will therefore exceed the time limit will be asked to end their race and, for safety and health reasons, to take a seat in the broom wagon. If, despite this request, you decide to continue your race, you do so at your own risk. After the broom wagon has passed, the course will be reopened to all road traffic. The broom wagon will take dropouts to the NN Dam tot Dam Park in Zaandam. You will not be eligible for a medal and will not be included in the results.
